About Hluboka nad Vltavou

Hluboka nad Vltavou is a town in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It is one of the most visited Chateaus in the Czech Republic as well. Originally called the Frauenberg was founded together with the nearby Budweis (Ceske Budejovice) in the 13th century by a famous Czech Kings Přemysl Otakar II. The original Gothic Castle was first remodelled into a Baroque style and later into a ''Tudor'' style Castle inspired by the Windsor Castle near London. The Chateau complex offers a historic glasshouse, fantastic castle interiors and an amazing English style park with a chapel. Hluboka Chateau is a great day trip from Prague or a great stopover when travelling to Salzburg.
